Punarjjani

A child with intellectual disabilities can be assessed, evaluated and programmed using Punarjjani, an online software tool, with input from an interdisciplinary team of special educators. For the benefit of children with intellectual disabilities, this is the first of its sort in India. The three main, extensively utilised evaluation techniques in India—FACP, MDPS and BASIC-MR—are integrated by Punarjjani.

Algorithms were taken from the manual procedure that is currently in use. These algorithms make recommendations based on each person’s strengths and requirements. Each person’s issue areas, areas that need to be strengthened and places where independence has been attained are highlighted. This analysis identifies the best short- and long-term goals and it suggests a lesson plan that works for each. The tool’s grouping algorithm facilitates the formation of homogenous groups for the purpose of group teaching children with intellectual disabilities.
