E-Counselling
The NIC’s e-Counselling section is a one-stop shop for all things related to applying to and being admitted into academic institutions around the country. It ensures a simple and transparent admissions process by providing end-to-end support to candidates, counselling boards and participating institutions. This project streamlines and facilitates academic admissions by being accessible from anywhere at any time. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), Joint Entrance Examination Council (JEECUP) and more than 35 other examination and counselling bodies have successfully partnered with the National Informatics Centre to facilitate central and state-level examinations.
More than 6,000 educational institutions are served by the counselling services, including prominent institutions like IITs, NITs, MAMC, AKTU and state- and federally-funded colleges. Serving more than 80 lakh students ranging from 8th and 10th grade grads to postgraduates, the system offers courses in a variety of subject areas, such as engineering, medicine, architecture, pharmacy, agriculture and management.
