Capacity Building

The Capacity Building scheme under the Digital India programme is dedicated to enhancing capacities at all levels of government. Initiated in 2008, it focuses on training, knowledge sharing, and technical support to address skill gaps in managing large IT and e-governance projects. In 2015, Phase II expanded the initiative, introducing new elements for greater outreach and flexibility through technology-led platforms.
Key objectives include dynamic training needs assessment, role-based training, thematic workshops, and providing support to states through State e-Mission Teams (SeMTs). The goal is to develop and strengthen the institutional framework to meet the government’s capacity-building needs effectively.
