In line with Prime Minister’s vision to democratize technology and empower citizens, the Government of India had launched the Digital India programme in July, 2015.

In line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, the Government is democratising the development and usage of technology. The focus is on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for solving real-world problems and ultimately improving lives across various sectors.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched its first structured Bug Bounty Programme to further strengthen the security of the Aadhaar system.

The ICANN85 Community Forum, organized by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and hosted in collaboration with the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) under MeitY, brought global Internet stakeholders to Mumbai to discuss how to support an open, secure, inclusive, and resilient Internet across the global Internet ecosystem. The ICANN85 Community Forum is currently taking place from 7^th to 12^thMarch 2026 at Jio Convention Center in Mumbai.

Government of India’s initiative for prioritizing talent development through Training, Up-skilling and Workforce Development Programs under Chips to Startups (C2S) initiative of India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, stated that India has made significant progress in last 04 years itself for its 10-year target of training 85,000 engineers in semiconductor design.

On March 6, 2026, Shri Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, inaugurated the Advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) located at Estate Plaza, Kantatoli, Ranchi. The inauguration of this Advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra is a significant step towards strengthening Aadhaar services in Ranchi and surrounding areas. The center has been developed with advanced technological features and improved infrastructure to provide Aadhaar enrolment and update services in a faster, transparent, and resident-friendly manner. The day-to-day operations of this Aadhaar Seva Kendra will be managed by Protean eGov Technologies Ltd.

In a milestone achievement, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has saturated more than 103,000 schools across India and helped millions of school students complete their mandatory biometric update (MBU) in Aadhaar at ease and comfort of their school campuses.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, held from 16–21 February 2026, marked a significant milestone in the global artificial intelligence landscape. The Summit witnessed extensive participation, with approximately 6 lakh attendees in person and over 9 lakh cumulative views through live virtual streaming. Delegations from more than 100 countries and 20 international organisations participated in the proceedings.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt of India has constituted a high level committee for  Harmonization of Regulatory Framework for DigiLocker. The terms of reference of the committee includes legislative review of Digital Locker rules in alignment with current technical and legal landscape and creating a future roadmap for Entity Locker, Ecosystem Expansion and Commercialization of Digital Locker System

The AI Impact Summit 2026, held in New Delhi on 18–19 February, concluded with the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact, marking a significant milestone in global cooperation on artificial intelligence.
