Hon. Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw and Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil today inaugurated Zetwerk Electronics’ new world-class manufacturing facility for defence, automotive, and IT hardware electronics built in Bengaluru. Inaugurating the program, the Union Minister stated that every product manufactured here will meet high-quality standards. The Minister noted that the manufacturing of electronic components is now growing rapidly. Already, 46 approvals have been granted, and Karnataka is set to receive investments exceeding ₹10,000 crore.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will convene its 85^th Public Meeting in Mumbai from 7-12 March 2026, hosted by the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). With its more than one billion Internet users and a thriving digital economy, India is an ideal location for participants from around the world to gather at the ICANN85 Community Forum to advance the technical work that ensures the secure and stable operation of the Internet.

As part of a nationwide clean-up effort to maintain the continued accuracy and integrity of the Aadhaar database, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has deactivated more than 2.5 crore Aadhaar numbers of deceased persons till date.

The Startup Accelerator of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development, and Growth (SAMRIDH) programme, aims to accelerate around 300 Startups through existing and upcoming Accelerators in Health-tech, Ed-tech, Agri-tech, Consumer-tech, Fin-tech, Software as a Service (SaaS), and sustainability. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and the Directorate-General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) of the European Commission have signed an Administrative Arrangement on Advanced Electronic Signatures and Seals on 27 January 2026.

The India AI Impact Summit, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from February 16-20, 2026, is anticipated to be the largest of the four global AI summits hosted to date, reflecting the growing international momentum around responsible, inclusive and impact-driven Artificial Intelligence.
