Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, visited the headquarters of ASML in Veldhoven, Netherlands, today.

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Railways and Information & Broadcasting, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, underscored growing global confidence in Bharat and India’s emergence as a trusted value-chain partner during his engagements at the World Economic Forum (WEF), Davos.

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Railways and Information & Broadcasting, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlighted India’s comprehensive approach to artificial intelligence, semiconductors and deep tech innovation during various interactions on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 at Davos.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Survey of India (SoI) on 20 January 2026 to support the digitisation, transcription and standardisation of geographical place names (toponyms) using AI-based speech and language technologies. The collaboration will strengthen the creation of accurate, multilingual and standardised toponymic datasets aligned with the National Geospatial Policy, 2022.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), participated in the AI Led Innovation and Capacity Building Conference, organised by the Centre for e-Governance (CeG), IT and Electronics Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, on 20 January 2026 at Lucknow. The conference brought together senior officials of the State Government, representatives of the Government of India, industry partners and academic institutions to deliberate on strengthening Artificial Intelligence adoption, digital skilling and innovation capacity in the State.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), participated in the Chintan Shivir – National Review of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), held on 19 January 2026 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The review meeting was organised by the National Health Authority (NHA) and brought together senior officials from the Union and State Governments, technical institutions, and implementing agencies to review progress and accelerate the adoption of digital health initiatives across the country.

The IndiaAI Mission, MeitY in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad today hosted the Working Group Meeting on Inclusion for Social Empowerment at the IIT Hyderabad campus. The meeting convened senior policymakers, academic leaders, industry experts and researchers to advance national deliberations on inclusive AI development, societal adoption of AI and equitable access to AI-driven opportunities.

The Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026, organised by IndiaAI Mission, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, concluded today in Bhopal. The event showcased cutting-edge AI use cases and best practices in governance and public service delivery, successfully aligning state-level initiatives with the IndiaAI Mission’s national ambitions.

The conference, organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, in collaboration with the IndiaAI Mission, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, academia, and central agencies to deliberate on inclusive and responsible AI adoption in governance.
