Bhashini Samudaye is centralised digital platform bringing together individual contributors, startups, academic institutions, and research organisations to support the development of a multilingual AI ecosystem.

Government of India launched IndiaAI mission with outlay of Rs. 10,372 crore for the development of the overall AI ecosystem in the country. With India’s push to democratise Artificial Intelligence and expand compute capacity, along with the rapid growth of data centres and cloud infrastructure, there has been a corresponding increase in demand for high-performance compute resources, including Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Under the IndiaAI Mission, more than 38 thousand GPUs for common compute facility have been onboarded through the AI compute portal, which are being provided to Indian start-ups and academia at an affordable rate. GPUs are highly advanced equipment and are primarily manufactured in one country.

India’s AI strategy is based on the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision to democratize the use of technology. It aims to address India centric challenges, create economic and employment opportunities for all Indians.

Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, India has taken several steps to promote the drone industry. The aim is to make India a global drone hub and create a robust indigenous ecosystem.

The policies of Government of India are aimed at ensuring open, safe, trusted and accountable cyberspace for users in the country. The Government is cognizant of the risks and harms arising from the misuse of digital technologies including the social media. The Information Technology Act, 2000 (“IT Act”) and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules”), together, have established a framework to deal with unlawful content in the digital space.

The Nyaya Setu AI Chatbot, along with its official mascot “Dishika”, was unveiled at the DISHA programme organised by the Department of Justice at Vigyan Bhawan by the Vice-President of India, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, and the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal.

In continuation to the approvals of 46 applications for Rs 54,567 crore announced earlier, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has further approved 29 proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) with projected investment of Rs 7,104 crore, projected production of Rs 84,515 crore. These approvals are expected to generate 14,246 direct employment opportunities.

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), successfully conducted a 5-day Advanced Anti-Drone Training Programme for officers of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at DIAT, Pune. This is the first of its kind intensive, technology-driven advanced training programme specifically designed for personnel engaged in national security and protection of critical infrastructure.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), under the Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the initiative titled “BHASHINI for Seva / Sanchalan – A BHASHINI Sahayogi Program.” The collaboration aims to strengthen multilingual digital capabilities within the pension fund services ecosystem through integration with the BHASHINI Platform, India’s National Language Digital Public Infrastructure.
