Digital India State Awareness Workshop in Sikkim
The Digital India State Awareness Workshop was organised by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of IT, Government of Sikkim, on 03 September 2026 at Denzong Regency, Gangtok, Sikkim. The one-day workshop aimed to sensitise and engage State Government departments on key Digital India initiatives, including DigiLocker, EntityLocker, the DPDP Act, 2023, data classification, citizen data protection, and the State Data Policy 2025, followed by an interactive Q&A session. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Bimal Rai, Secretary, IT, with a keynote address by Shri Sonam Tashi Wangdi, Director, IT.
Approximately 100 State Government officials participated in the workshop, which provided a platform for awareness, consultation and knowledge-sharing on digital governance, data protection and the adoption of key Digital India initiatives.
