The session “From Insights to Action for Resilient, High-Performance Data Centres”, held today on the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and organised in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy (US DOE) and the National Lab of the Rockies, earlier known as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), discussed the growing pressure that AI-driven data centre expansion is placing on energy systems and infrastructure planning.

As part of the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the session “AI in Governance: Revolutionising Government Efficiency” brought together global researchers and senior policymakers to examine how artificial intelligence can strengthen public service delivery at scale. The discussion focused on moving beyond pilots and promise toward measurable impact, emphasizing rigorous evaluation, responsible deployment and systems-level readiness across government.

The AI Impact Casebooks focusing on Energy and Accessibility were released at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The publications bring together global experiences on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for sustainable development and inclusive growth.

Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, Shri. Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced on the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 that India will scale its compute capacity beyond the existing 38,000 GPUs with the addition of 20,000 GPUs in the coming weeks. He highlighted that this marks the next phase of India’s AI strategy, with a significant expansion of compute infrastructure and a focus on responsible AI deployment.

IndiaAI, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) in collaboration with All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT), today flagged off Kaushal Rath, a mobile Artificial Intelligence (AI) awareness initiative under the National AI Literacy programme “Yuva AI for All.” The initiative aims to expand access to foundational AI education and bridge the digital divide by reaching students, youth, educators, and learners in semi-urban and underserved regions.
