The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), in collaboration with NISG, is organizing a one-day workshop on the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 to enhance awareness and understanding of data protection and governance frameworks across government and industry sectors. Given the Income Tax Department's crucial role as a significant Data Fiduciary—handling vast volumes of sensitive personal data—it is imperative to ensure early preparedness and robust compliance with the new statutory framework.
The workshop aims to build institutional capacity around the DPDP Act by highlighting the roles and responsibilities of Data Fiduciaries, data classification practices, consent management, and privacy by design principles. It will feature expert-led sessions by Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and industry leaders, offering practical insights into implementing compliance mechanisms, technical safeguards, and data governance strategies aligned with the Act.
