CONTROLLER OF CERTIFYING AUTHORITIES (CCA)

The IT Act provides for the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) to license and regulate the working of Certifying Authorities and also to ensure that none of the provisions of the Act are violated. The Certifying Authorities (CAs) issue Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) for electronic authentication of users. Its aim is to promote the growth of e-commerce and eGovernance through a wide use of digital signatures.

CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ADVANCED COMPUTING (C-DAC)

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is the premier organization of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for carrying out research and development in IT, Electronics and associated areas. C-DAC works on strengthening national technological capabilities in the context of global developments in the field and responds to change in the market need in selected foundation areas.

CENTRE FOR RAILWAY INFORMATION SYSTEMS (CRIS)

The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Railways. It develops and manages the Information Technology applications of the Indian Railways. CRIS also provides IT applications for non-Railway Government and Public Sector organizations and wider transparency of national and local Governments.

COMMON SERVICES CENTRE (CSC)

Common Services Center (CSC) are a strategic cornerstone of the Digital India programme. They are the access points for delivery of various electronic services to villages in India, thereby contributing to a digitally and financially inclusive society. CSCs are more than service delivery points in rural India. They are positioned as change agents, promoting rural entrepreneurship and building rural capacities and livelihoods. They are enablers of community participation and collective action for engendering social change through a bottom-up approach with key focus on the rural citizen.

DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE COOPERATION AND FARMERS WELFARE (DAC&FW)

DAC&FW is organized into 27 divisions and has five attached offices and twenty-one subordinate offices which are spread across the country for coordination with state level agencies and implementation of Central Sector Schemes in their respective fields. Further, one Public Sector Undertakings, nine autonomous bodies, ten national level cooperative organizations and two authorities are functioning under the administrative control of the Department.

SMALL FARMERS AGRIBUSINESS CONSORTIUM (SFAC)

Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) is an autonomous society promoted by Ministry of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India. SFAC is an exclusive society focused on increasing incomes of small and marginal farmers through aggregation and development of agribusiness. SFAC is progressing towards establishing an eco system for FPOs/FPCs to make them sustainable and viable in the long run. SFAC is also implementing the National Agriculture Market Electronic Trading (e-Nam) platform.

DEPARTMENT OF EMPOWERMENT OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (DEPWD)

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment facilitates empowerment of the persons with disabilities, who as per Census 2011 are 2.68 crore and are 2.21 percent of the total population of the Country. These include persons with Seeing, Hearing, Speech, Movement, Mental Retardation, Mental Illness, Multiple Disability and any other disabilities.

DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE SERVICES

The mandate of the Department of Financial Services covers the functioning of Banks, Financial Institutions, Insurance Companies and the National Pension System.

DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL POLICY & PROMOTION (DIPP)

Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion is responsible for formulation and implementation of promotional and developmental measures for growth of the industrial sector, keeping in view the national priorities and socio-economic objectives. While individual Administrative Ministries look after the production, distribution, development and planning aspects of specific industries allocated to them, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion is responsible for the overall Industrial Policy.

DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (DST)

Department of Science & Technology (DST) promotes new areas of Science & Technology, and to play the role of a nodal department for organising, coordinating and promoting S&T activities in the country. DST accordingly (a) Develops S&T policies, (b) Strengthens human resources and institutional capacities, (c) Enables development & deployment of technologies, (d) Creates opportunities for societal interventions through S & T & (e) Establishes and engages in mechanisms of cooperation, partnerships & alliances.
