The idea of paperless governance got a shot in the arm when DigiLocker was launched in July 2015 by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi.  Citizen Kishore Bhatia  wrote a blog in admiration of this path-breaking initiative by the Government.

What is the most important in Digital India? Different persons may have different views, but for me, the most important aspect of the Digital India, a flagship program of Government of India, is policies related to Open Source. In 2015, Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) of Ministry of Communication & Information Technology released three major policies related to open source.

The need to sign document digitally is increasing,   eReturn and MCA departments are using it very extensively over web interface. But as more and more people have started using Mobile Phones, the time has come to provide Digital Signature and encryption on Mobile Phones. 

National e-Governance Division, an agency of DeitY, in association with NSS has conducted awareness workshops on Digital India in 13 universities . Spread across 13 States in the country , these workshops were conducted on 25th Feb 2016 and attended by more than 200 students in each workshop, university faculty and local dignitaries.

Digital India will deliver a real improvement in the quality of life of every citizen President Barack Obama's just concluded historic visit to India has laid the foundation for a relationship of hope and promise between India and the US. Among other areas, i believe this relationship has immense potential in the field of ICT and digital connectivity.Already 60% of India's IT exports, worth $50 billion, cater to the US market.
